Fail2ban and Php

Just noticed some weeks week my local mirror of the PHP manual didn’t update. It was fail2ban that put a stop to it and prevented rsync. So, there’s been a few week without update now. Not that it mattered too much, but it should work. My local mirror is only for my and not a public one.

I haven’t looked into it more, but I solved it by adding the PHP-domains to ignoreip.

Add to end of list…

europe.rsync.php.net rsync.php.net
1
2
# these IPs are local, LAN and server fixed IP
ignoreip = 127.0.0.1/8 192.168.0.0/24 172.16.0.0/24 172.31.0.0/24 10.10.0.0/24 europe.rsync.php.net rsync.php.net

There’s no filter or action for rsync, so I’ll have to look into that and create one. For now, whitelisting the 2 domains will be ok.
